Democratic Labour Party (DLP) hopeful for the St George North seat, Floyd Refier, took to the streets earlier this morning as part of the Mega Weekend.

Many of the DLP old guard were out in their numbers to support the former West Indies captain.

The soft-spoken hometown boy said the plan was to hit as many communities as possible.

“We’ve been doing a lot of walking about over the last two weeks, and we’ve spoken to a lot of people within the communities. As we go through the area we will hit the blocks, the shops and make house-to-house calls and have conversations and keep building that momentum,” he said.

On Friday night, Reifer began his Mega Weekend with a shop crawl, followed by this morning’s canvassing. A motorcade is scheduled to follow this evening and a gospel concert to introduce Reifer to the public tomorrow. (RA)
