Two brothers threw in the towel yesterday and pleaded guilty to manslaughter after spending the last six years on remand.

Scott “Ratty” Harewood and Stuart “Cujoe” Harewood, of Seaview, St Philip, had been charged with murdering Derek “Bhingy” Hunte, 48, of Lynches, also in St Philip, on June 3, 2014.

However, prosecutor Principal Crown Counsel Krystal Delaney accepted the manslaughter pleas for Stuart Harewood, who was represented by Queen’s Counsel Michael Lashley, and Scott Harewood, who was represented by attorney Safiya Moore.

The prosecutor said that on the day of the incident, the deceased was in an area of St Philip known as The Block, along with several other people. Stuart arrived driving a white car, got out and had a conversation with Hunte before an argument ensued. (RA)
