Several of the major arteries in Bridgetown will be closed on Monday to facilitate the removal of the statue of Lord Nelson from Heroes Square.

Trafalgar Street and the section of Broad Street, from its junction with Prince William Henry Street to its junction with Trafalgar Street, will be closed from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

There will also be a partial closure of a section of Bridge Street (northbound lanes) from its junction with Fairchild Street to its junction with Wharf Road from 3 until 6 p.m. Motorists traveling south along Bridge Street towards Probyn Street will still be allowed to pass under the direction of the Royal Barbados Police Force.

There will also a partial closure of Wharf Road from 3 until 6 p.m. to facilitate the relocation of the statue to Block A, The Garrison.

The travelling public is asked to note the changes and arrange their business accordingly. (PR/SAT)
