BTC ready for night racing
All systems are a go for the David Seale Racing Nite, which is slated for Monday, Independence Day at the historic Garrison Savannah.
History will be made at the 6 p.m. event, the first night-racing in the country’s history, and chief executive officer and secretary of the Barbados Turf Club (BTC), Rosette Peirce, has revealed there is no longer concern about the state of the track, which officials were forced to remedy after it was damaged.
Rains throughout the preceding week had rendered track conditions extremely soft for the Pinnacle Feeds Midsummer Creole Classic race day held on November 14.
That second race day of the BTC’s third season left the newly laid track in less than ideal condition, riddled with holes. (LY)
