Stylish West Indies’ batsman Shai Hope is battling and batting to get back into the Test team.

Hope says he is working on technical areas of his batting with assistance from the Barbados Cricket Association’s coaches and support from his older brother, Kyle Hope, who also enjoyed a brief stint playing for West Indies.

“I have been getting hard yards on the field. For me, it’s just about continuing what I’m doing. I think I’m getting the right work in at the moment and the coaches have been helping me,” Hope told NATIONSPORT in an interview after scoring the second of back-to-back centuries in the Barbados Cricket Legends Cup at Kensington Oval last week.

Hope led Sir Garfield Sobers XI to a second straight victory last Thursday and the National Hero was on hand to witness the result at Kensington Oval. (HE)
