JONATHAN DRAKES gave himself the perfect early Christmas gift with a majestic hundred for the Sir Garfield Sobers XI in the fourth match of the Barbados Cricket Legends 50-over Cup.

Playing yesterday at Kensington Oval, the slim right-hander powered his way to 163 with 17 fours and six sixes off 130 balls in his side’s mammoth total of 355 for seven from the alloted 50 overs after they elected to bat.

In reply, Sir Wesley Hall XI were dismissed for 203 in 33.3 overs to suffer a massive 152-run defeat.

It was the third consecutive victory for the unbeaten Sir Garfield Sobers XI, who moved to a maximum nine points, while it was the second loss in three matches for Sir Wesley Hall XI who are on three points. (EH)
