Six released from isolation; two new cases

Barbados recorded two more cases of COVID-19 on Monday, while six people were released from isolation.

The new cases are a 22-year-old male visitor who arrived on British Airways on December 19 and a 21-year-old female visitor who came in on British Airways on December 20.  Both of them were asymptomatic and tested positive on their second tests.

Theirs were the only positive tests among the 1 455 conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

There are now 32 people in isolation, and 329 confirmed cases of the viral illness – 173 females and 156 males.  To date, there have been 290 recoveries and seven deaths.

The public health laboratory completed 63 378 tests since February. (BGIS)
