Dear Doc,

I am a diabetic and I get my treatment and medication through the Government pharmacies. Do you know what upto- date ways are available in Barbados that Government does not do yet? – Veronica Dear Veronica,

Barbados has an exemplary health care system in place for many decades. Recently, since COVID, the hospital pharmacy offers a delivery system for those filling their repeat medication. The Barbados health care system does not offer every medication for diabetes for free, but they go to great effort to choose the best of each category to make this available through the Government pharmacy. In addition, certain medications outside of certain groups, if required, can be requested by your consultant according to what is appropriate for your individual treatment.
