Fed up with ‘poor postal service’

Long lines and waits of up to five hours at the parcel post department of the General Post Office in Cheapside, The City, caused no end of frustration and anger yesterday.

The issue has reportedly been ongoing for longer as some people told the Weekend Nation of having to return to the post office on more than one day after doors closed at 3:15 p.m. with some still waiting in line.

“This is the second day I’m here. Yesterday [Tuesday], I got here at 2 p.m. and I couldn’t get in. I’m just glad to get in today but it’s not good service,” said Lakhdar Hafiz.

Debora Gilkes said she came out hungry and aching after spending much of the day inside the post office.

“I was in there for five hours. All my back, neck and waist hurting and I’m so hungry, my stomach burning. I just came to pick up a package, I don’t know why it took so long. People kept apologising but its bad service, I had to suffer just to get my own things,” she said.
