Just after 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Ann Harding unlocked the gate of their home for her son Mekail Zeco Alonzo Harding to enter.

But he never made it inside.

Minutes after she opened the entrance of their Williams Road, Upper Collymore Rock, St Michael home, the 27-year-old was shot and killed.

Police said the incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. and they received a report call around 9:26 p.m. and when they arrived, Mekail had already been transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in a private car.

He was pronounced dead on arrival. His death is 42nd murder for the year.
