The southern section of Barbados is under a flash flood watch until 6 p.m., but this could be terminated sooner, if conditions warrant.
A flash flood watch is issued when heavy or excessive rainfall in a short period of time (generally less than six hours) could result in flash flooding within the watch area, but it does not mean that flooding will occur.
The Barbados Meteorological Services say a trough system is currently affecting the island, with the majority of heavy showers occurring to the south of Barbados. Maximum rainfall accumulations of 15 to 25mm are forecast. (PR/SAT)
