Test hopeful Shayne Moseley is pleased to be on the cusp of realising a boyhood dream.
The left-handed opening batsman was named last month in the West Indies’ 15-man Test squad to face hosts Bangladesh in a two-Test series which commences on February 3.
His selection comes after an impressive showing in the second warm-up match against New Zealand ‘A’ on tour Down Under last month, where he cracked 110 in the first innings and 54 in the second. The 26-year-old also toured England as a reserve batsman last summer.
With ten senior players opting out of the tour, Moseley’s moment may come sooner than he had calculated, but it is one he would have been preparing for his entire career. (NM)
