Visitor COVID-19 complaints continue

Tempers of visitors in quarantine awaiting COVID-19 test results continued to flare yesterday, despite assurances of improvement in the system by health authorities.

Reports yesterday suggested some hotels were under pressure from quarantined guests over COVID-19 test results and refunds promised by Government.

However, head of the new COVID-19 communications committee, United Nations Ambassador Liz Thompson, pointed out last night that Government would be following through on its vow to compensate those adversely affected by the delayed test results. She also joined the chorus of apologies coming from Government officials over the issue.

One guest of a South Coast hotel, who was reaching out to the DAILY NATION “in desperation”, said she arrived in Barbados on January 2 with a negative COVID-19 test. (GC/BW)
