Caribbean Airlines has informed clients that they would not be allowed to travel to the United States without a negative COVID-19 test, effective January 26.
This follows protocols outlined in a health alert posted on the website of the United States Embassy over the weekend.
“TheĀ US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) director has signed anĀ order requiring all airline passengers traveling to the United States, including US citizens and Lawful Permanent Residents (LPRs), to provideĀ proofĀ ofĀ a negativeĀ COVID-19 viral testĀ or recoveryĀ from COVID-19.
āAirlinesĀ mustĀ deny boarding to passengersĀ who do notĀ meet these requirements,ā the notice said.
āCaribbean Airlines advises that effective January 26, 2021, all passengers travelling into the United States of America (USA), will be required to present results of a negative COVID-19 test in order to travel,ā a media release from the airline noted.
āIt will be mandatory to have a COVID-19 test no older than three days before the flight departure date to the United States.
āTravellers must provide written documentation of their laboratory test result (paper or electronic copy) to the airline at check-in. Based on the instructions issued by the public health authorities, passengers who do not provide documentation of a negative COVID-19 test result will not be allowed to travel.
āAll persons travelling must adhere to the COVID-19 entry requirements for their respective destinations. (PR/KG)
