It appears that Government’s COVID-19 relief programme, which aims to distribute 60 000 care packages to the vulnerable has started.

Although no official announcement was made, personnel from the Barbados Defence Force (BDF) were distributing packages to people in several communities yesterday.

On Monday in a media release, the BDF said a date for distribution would have been announced by Government.

Among the items in the care packages are oil, flour, corned beef, canned hotdogs, canned corn, canned mixed vegetables, canned tuna, drink mix, oats, tissue, toilet tissue, sugar, rice, sardines, biscuits and mackerel.

Government says it will distribute 60 000 care packages to vulnerable families. (SB)
