Article by [email protected]

The Vector Control Unit of the Ministry of Health and Wellness will concentrate its efforts in St Michael during the week of February 15 to 19, as it works to eradicate the Aedes aegypti mosquito.

On Monday, February 15, the team will fog Passage Road, Kensington Lodge, Baxter’s Road, King Street, Hunte Street, Chapman Street, Green Park Lane, Lightfoot Lane, Sobers Lane, Mahogany Lane, Whitepark Road, and surrounding areas.

They will go to Tweedside Road, Nurse Land with Avenues, Grosvenor Road, Baycroft Road, Goddard Road, School Road, Gully Hill, Bridge Road, and neighbouring districts on Tuesday, February 16.

The team will travel on Wednesday, February 17, to Stadium Road, Spooners Hill, Butlers Avenue, Paradise Road, Syndicate Road, Stuarts Road, Ellis Road, Pioneer Road, Civilian Road, Bush Hall Yard Gap, and environs, where they will carry out the fogging exercise.

On Thursday, February 18, Bush Hall Yard Gap, Ocean View Road, Accommodation Road, Perfection Road, Alleynes Land with Avenues, Military Road, Tull Land, Review Road, and surrounding districts will be targeted.

The Unit will conclude fogging for the week on Friday, February 19, in the districts of Deacons Road, Deacons Farm, Ash Deane Village, Brighton, Black Rock, and environs.

Fogging takes place from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. daily. Householders are reminded to open their windows and doors so that the spray can enter.

Members of the public are reminded that the completion of scheduled fogging activities may be affected by events beyond the Unit’s control. When this occurs, the Unit will return to affected communities in the soonest possible time. (BGIS)
