It is Lenten season again and many church faithful were unable to receive the traditional Ash Wednesday mark yesterday.

Due to COVID-19 measures, churches are only allowed, at most, ten people per service.

At St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Cathedral on Jemmotts Lane, St Michael, the mass was extra special as it featured the Bishop designate of Bridgetown Neil Scantlebury, a Barbadian who was living in the United States Virgin Islands.

The 55-year-old clergyman said his plan was a simple one – listen to God, accomplish His will, listen to the people and pray. As for the pandemic, he said listening to the authorities as well as relying on God would allow humanity to prevail. (CA)
