87 recoveries, 20 new COVID cases

Eighty-seven people recovered from COVID-19 on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 while there were 20 new positive cases of the virus.

The new positives were identified from 402 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory, bringing the number of active cases to 314.

The 20 cases recorded on Tuesday comprised eight men and 12 women. Fifteen were already at the Harrison Point Isolation Facility in St Lucy undergoing assessment.

Barbados recorded 3 353 confirmed cases comprising 1 588 females and 1 765 males, and 3 002 people recovered. There were 37 deaths from COVID-19.

The public health has so far completed 131 362 tests.

On Tuesday, 150 people were vaccinated as part of the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19.

To date, 49 757 vaccinations were administered to 20 916 men and 28 841 women. (BGIS)
