The annual Sol Rally Barbados has been rescheduled for September 25 and 26 due to the continuing effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

In announcing the revised dates last weekend, the Barbados Rally Club (BRC), which organises the 24-stage event, also revealed that its sprint and stage rally disciplines would not start until August.

The BRC said action will now get underway with a joint event to be run with the Motoring Club of Barbados Inc. (MCBI) on August 21 and 22 while Flow King of the Hill which features four timed runs on a roughly four-kilometre circuit, will be staged on Sunday, September 19.

In a notice to its membership and the overseas competitors issued last weekend, BRC chairman Mark Hamilton said the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact motorsport, creating challenges in the planning and execution of events. (PR/EZS)
