Minister of Home Affairs Wilfred Abrahams will host a press conference at 2:30 p.m. today to discuss the situation at the Government Industrial School (GIS).

He will be joined by Ronald Brathwaite, acting principal of Government Industrial Schools and Dr Brian MacLachlan, senior consultant psychiatrist at the Psychiatric Hospital.

Several issues at GIS dominated the headlines in recent weeks, including the story of a 14-year-old naked girl who was placed in a solitary confinement cell.

Abrahams promised an internal investigation.
