New COVID cases in single digits
Barbados recorded eight new positive cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, March 23, 2021.
The two men and six women were identified from among the 441 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory. Eleven people recovered and were discharged from isolation, and there are now 149 in isolation.
There were 3 582 confirmed cases – 1 718 females and 1 864 males – since Barbados recorded the first cases in March 2020 and 3 401 people recovered. There were 40 deaths from COVID-19.
The public health laboratory has so far completed 137 567 tests.
On Tuesday, 945 people were vaccinated as part of the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19. To date, 62 765 vaccinations were administered to 26 065 men and 36 700 women. (BGIS)
