Many businesses have instituted shortened work hours, vacations and lay-offs to weather the lockdown storm.

In Bridgetown, business owners spoke about how shopping has been since they reopened last week Monday, following six weeks of closure, and how they were surviving.

In Tuesday’s Daily Nation, both chairman of the Barbados Private Sector Association Edward Clarke and former president of the Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Eddy Abed, said business had experienced a brief surge but things had since fallen off.
