Latapy: We need to score more

Head Coach of the Barbados senior football team, Russell Latapy, says his players need to be more clinical with goal-scoring opportunities ahead of the second leg of their Concacaf FIFA World Cup qualifers set for June.

The Tridents are currently in quarantine after returning home from the Dominican Republic on Wednesday, following a 1-0 victory over Anguilla the previous day at the Felix Sanchez Olympic Stadium.

Barbados seemed to be heading towards a stalemate before midfielder Emile Saimovici scored his first goal for the national side in the 81st minute.

“We are delighted that we got the three points. When we saw the fixtures and we knew that we had to play these games, we always thought that a realistic start would be to come back home with three points,” Latapy told reporters in a live Zoom press conference yesterday.
