Government is expected to showcase a new look Crop Over this year, and details on the rollout should be publicised by the end of this month.

That is according to Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office with responsibility for Culture John King. He was speaking to the media at the end of a presentation by fellow entertainer Desmond “Fowl” Weekes at Sky Mall, St Michael this morning.

“We know the vaccines do not actually stop people from getting COVID so we have to be clear on that. Crop Over as people envisioned it in the past with all the things going on cannot be in the same way that we envisioned it,” he explained to the media.

King said meetings were ongoing and hopefully, before the end of this month, a full statement would be released on the way forward.

He said Crop Over was more than just a money-making exercise and was not just about generating revenue as the season was about Barbadians.  (RA)
