It could be considered one of the better birthday gifts that Shawn McNeil “Batman” Evelyn could have received as he stood in the dock of the No. 5 Supreme Court yesterday.

Evelyn, 46, of Eastbourne No. 2, St Philip, who was back to be sentenced for having a rusty gun six years ago, listened as Justice Pamela Beckles told him he would not be incarcerated but would have to pay a fine instead.

The self-confessed gunman had pleaded guilty, at an earlier Session of the Continuous Sittings, to possession of a .32-calibre revolver on March 26, 2015.

Police executed a search warrant at his house and found the rusty gun in the cistern of the toilet. (HLE)
