Virus cases decline

Barbados continues to see a decline in novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases.

Four new cases, two men and two women, were identified out of the 619 tests carried out by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Thursday, April 8.

Three people were released from isolation, bringing the number of recoveries to 3 579.  There are 100 people in isolation.

Barbados has recorded 3 708 confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic, comprising 1 797 women and 1 911 men.  There have been 44 deaths.

The public health laboratory has so far conducted 145 227 tests.

To date, 64 645 vaccinations have been administered – 26 662 men and 37 983 women. (BGIS)
