One new virus case, nine people recover

There was only one new positive case (a female) of coronavirus (COVID-19) reported on Saturday, April 24, from the 321 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

Meanwhile, nine people recovered from the viral illness and were discharged. Currently, 104 people are in isolation.

Confirmed COVID-19 cases recorded, from March 2020, have moved to 3 825 (1 864 women and 1 961 men), while 3 735 people have recovered.  The death toll from the virus is 44.

Since February last year, the public health laboratory has conducted 151 803 tests.

As part of the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, a total of 72 728 vaccinations – 30 056 men and 42 672 women – have been administered. (BGIS)
