Police name Waterford shooting victim

The man who was shot and killed at Belle View, Waterford, St Michael on Wednesday was identified as Erwin Thomas.

The 49-year-old, from the same district, was familiarly known as Redman.

Police responded to the report of a shooting in the area around 11:50 a.m. and discovered Thomas’ body. He was pronounced dead by a medical doctor who visited the scene.

A 25-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment, while a 13-year-old boy was grazed in the back during the incident. Residents say two men in white hazmat suits opened fire in the area.
