Vasbert Drakes’ pre-trial matter against Cricket West Indies (CWI) will be heard in the Antigua High Court tomorrow.
Drakes’ attorney, Ralph Thorne, told MIDWEEK SPORT, the matter will come up for what is expected to be the final pre-trial hearing before the actual trial.
“The hearing will essentially seek to ensure that all necessary documentation has been filed and that the parties are in a state of readiness for the trial.
“Since I am unfamiliar with the Antigua High Court’s calendar of cases, I cannot predict what date will be assigned for Drakes’ case, but I fully expect that this case will be heard soon,” Thorne said.
Drakes, a former Test and One-Day International fast bowling all-rounder, is taking legal action over the decision by CWI to fire him from its coaching staff in 2019. Thorne said the matter was awaiting a date of hearing. (MK)
