Protest, until the price of fuel drops.

Accountant Olujimi Clarke, known for his robust social media postings, is now urging all Barbadians to fill their cars with one litre of petrol starting today, until Government does something about the increasing fuel prices.

In a seven and a half minute video uploaded to Instagram, Clarke said it was time to “apply pressure”, as he invited people to pull up to gas pumps and fill up with just one litre of petrol for $3.88 or $3.10 for diesel.

“If we stand for nothing we will fall for anything. If we do not unite as a people we cannot achieve anything. Friday and Saturday we “fill up” and Sunday no gas station at all. If you are participating, take a picture of the $3.88 at the pump and tag members of Government. We are going to do this every weekend until they understand that they need to look at the prices. We’re not saying to cut out taxes altogether, because you need taxes to run the country, but in Barbados taxes on petroleum products are way too high when compared to our Caribbean counterparts,” he fumed.
