Tropical wave weakens

The tropical wave approaching Barbados continues to weaken.

A statement from the Barbados Meteorological Services said development of the wave, which was about 300 miles to the east, “is now very unlikely at this time as environmental conditions around the system are becoming less conducive for tropical cyclone development”.

It is forecast to continue to influence the weather conditions across Barbados and the southern Windwards during the next few days in the form of rain.

Members of the public are reminded that it will be a very active season, not only for tropical cyclones, but for rainfall and are asked to stay on the alert for weather updates and to be prepared. (PR/SAT)
