12 new COVID cases

Twelve new cases of the COVID-19 virus were discovered in Barbados.

Three females and nine males were identified yesterday from the 766 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

Thirty-five people are now in isolation at the Harrison Point, St Lucy facility.

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases recorded since March 2020, is 4 108 – 1,988 females and 2,120 males.  The virus has claimed 47 lives.

The public health laboratory carried out 190 749 tests.

A total of 95 695 first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered under the National Vaccination Programme, 71 703 people received second doses and are fully vaccinated. (BA/PR)
