Clarke and Griffith advance to NACAC 100-metre finals

Barbadian sprinters Matthew Clarke and Kuron Griffith both advanced to the men’s 100-metres finals at the North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletic Association (NACAC) Under-23 championships today in Costa Rica.

Griffith, the Barbados national 100-metre champion eased to victory in 10.34 seconds to progress as the fastest qualifier from heat two.

Jamaica’s Odaine Mcpherson (10.39) finished second and Guinove Joanus (10.40) of Haiti took the third spot.

Meanwhile, Clarke crossed the line second in heat one in 10.65 seconds. He was beaten by Trinidad and Tobago’s Kion Benjamin (10.53), while Haiti’s Issac Benjamin Joseph (11.03) came third. (AGB)
