Nine new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases – four males and five females – were identified on Thursday, July 8, out of the 955 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.
Forty-four people are now in insolation.
Meanwhile, a 79-year-old Barbadian male, who had comorbidities, passed away on Thursday, at the Harrison Point Isolation Facility. His death brings the total number of people who have died from COVID-19 to 48.
Barbados has recorded 4 128 confirmed cases (1 997 females and 2 131 males) since March last year.
The public health laboratory has conducted 192 383 tests since February 2020.
A total of 95 981 first doses have been administered under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, while 72 088 have received their second dose and are fully vaccinated. (BGIS)
