Dominus one to beat

Dominus, with four consecutive impressive sprinting victories, will face the top-class sprinters in the feature Ol’ Time Crop Over Handicap today at the Garrison Savannah.

The Sir David Seale-owned, Andrew Nunes-trained colt will eyeball Martin and Daniel Raizman’s vastly improved colt Zagan in the 1 100 metres speed fest around 4:30 p.m.

Dominus’ formidable form has seen him steadily moving through the ranks, and he must definitely be caught if he is to be beaten. In his last win, he shredded sprinters with a destructive display of speed in a year’s best time of 1:04.4 minutes.

He loses regular pilot, champion jockey Rasheed Hughes, who has vacated and shows loyalty with Zagan, who is now seeking consecutive victories sprinting. (LY)
