Some students of The Lodge School waited four hours to write a Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) examination today.
Upset parents at the Society, St John school complained to Nation News about the wait.
One of the parents said the exam was online and was scheduled to start at 12:30 p.m.
“I came here around 2 p.m. I can’t leave my son here, as you know how the bus system works out here. This is not good enough, the Ministry of Education telling us they are aware of the situation and the examination is still on but nothing is happening. When I heard about this, my blood pressure went up, I can only imagine how the children must feel,” she said.
The upset mother said the children had not been able to eat and were just waiting to get the examination started. She said personnel from Flow were on site but had been there for more than an hour. She later confirmed the examination had begun around 4:30 p.m.
When contacted, Acting Chief Education Officer Joy Adamson said she was aware of the issue and Flow personnel were on site, Adamson said she was trying to ascertain what was happening.
Nation News understands the examination has to be completed today. Calls to CXC’s office went unanswered. (CA)
