Roads turned into rivers in St Lucy

Some parts of St Lucy resembled a river yesterday afternoon.

The Barbados Meteorological Services issued a flood warning for the northern areas at 11:30 a.m., which ended at 6 p.m.

A social media picture posted by Democratic Labour Party president and St Lucy candidate Verla De Peiza showed two people guiding an elderly woman over a makeshift wooden pallet bridge while swift-moving waters rushed underneath.

Edwin Boyce, who lives near Ignatius Byer Primary School in Lowlands, told the Daily Nation the water had flooded out Pie Corner and reached by Lowlands. (CA)
