Barbadian Formula 3 driver Zane Maloney said on his Instagram page today that it was a “good end to the weekend, bringing home solid points with a P4 finish”.
Maloney placed fourth in race two at the Red Bull Ring in Speilberg, Austria as the seventh round of the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA) concluded today.
The teenager was the sixth fastest in qualifying with his lap time of 1 minute, 26 seconds to help him advance a few places up the grid from Saturday’s race and make a greater push to the front.
On Saturday, Maloney finished ninth in Race 1.
Maloney continues to make a strong case for the top three in the championship standings. He now has 138 points, nine fewer than teammate Hadrien David in second place with 147 points and 27 more than another teammate Isack Hadjar, who occupies fourth spot and leads the rookie standings with 111 points.
The eighth round will be held at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain from September 25 to 26. (NM)
