110 new COVID-19 cases, 850 now in isolation

Another 110 people have tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Barbados.

These results are from 1 787 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Thursday, September 16, and comprised 48 males and 62 females, including 30 people under the age of 18. There are now 850 people in isolation.

Since March last year, Barbados recorded 6 358 cases of the viral illness, comprising 3 177 males and 3 181 females.

The public health laboratory has performed 292 019 tests.

To date, 123 950 people have received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine under the national vaccination programme, and 97 050 people (35.8 per cent of the population) have received their second dose and are fully vaccinated.
