Some churches have been granted permission to increase their capacity from 25 people for Sunday services, and yesterday two of them saw hundreds of worshippers turn out to praise their God.
At The People’s Cathedral in Bishop’s Court Hill, St Michael, youth pastor Ezron Walrond said despite being allocated space for 350 worshippers, they capped at 300 “to be safe rather than sorry”.
He added that 250 people, who had to pre-register, attended the early service.
“The first service [at 7:30 a.m.] went well. Everybody complied with the protocols. We were allowed to have more than one room occupied, the main sanctuary, under the canopy, and the clerk room upstairs. One of the things we did to help alleviate anything is that we staggered people leaving so as to have no intermingling. It was a good start and we hope we can go from there,” he told the DAILY NATION. (RA)
