Prime Minister Mia Mottley, Minister of Health Jeffrey Bostic, consultant Mr Anthony Harris addressed the nation on October 3, 2021 in the latest COVID-19 management update.
Dr Adanna Grandison, consultant with the Home Quarantine Programme, was also present.

- We are experiencing challenges with medical human resources and space at the isolation facilities.
- The Ministry of Health is processing those who tested positive for COVID-19to see who qualify for home isolation.
- 591 people out of 680 were assessed
- 22 were referred to Harrison’s Point
- 12 more are to be sent to Harrison’s Point
- We are trying desperately to ensure that we get those persons who require urgent or immediate medical attention out of their homes and into facilities so that they can be taken care of.
- The Ministry of Health will be providing thermometers and pulse oximeters to monitor people’s condition at home.
- A team from Northwell is in Barbados to provide assistance. They are conducting assessments.

- If you the public follow the instructions of the medical team, it should be a safe and easy undertaking.
- Thermometers and pulse oximeters will monitor the temperature and level of oxygen in the blood. They will allow us to pick up symptoms early before you start to feel unwell.
- The Ministry of Health officials will give clear instructions that people can manage themselves safely at home.

- We have not met the weekly 10 000 target for vaccinations, but the numbers are increasing. We need to be close to 1 500 each day.
- Government will continue to put things in place to help the public.
- We have rolled out one of the most comprehensive social programmes.
- Talk to your doctor about taking the vaccine.
- If you do not feel well, say so.
- Home isolation is for low-risk people.
- This is a national battle we can win if we all do the right thing.
- Continue to follow the public health protocols – wear your mask, physical distance and wash your hands.
