Residents in the west coast parish of St James and the east coast parish of St John will be affected by water outages or low pressure over the next two days.
The Barbados Water Authority said in a media release on Wednesday that it would be making connections to new mains between Highway 3B and Eastmont in St John between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. on Thursday and in Lancaster, St James, between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday.
“Customers are asked to store an adequate supply of water to assist during this time,” the BWA media release stated.
“The Authority will also help residents in the affected districts via tanker as a temporary measure… The BWA apologises for the inconvenience this service disruption may cause.”
The media release added while the work in St John is being conducted, the road between Eastmont and Cheshire Junction through Pool to Verdun House will be closed to through traffic.
Residents in Pool, Four Roads, Eastmont, Cheshire, Small Town, Gall Hill, Colleton, Massiah Street and surrounding districts in St John will be affected by the lack of water on Thursday.
The next day, residents in Sion Hill, Westmoreland, Greenwich Village, Plumtree Road, Portvale, St Thomas Parish Church, Arch Hall and surrounding districts will be affected by the BWA’s work on Friday. (PR/AR)
