If you are bold enough to walk with an illegal gun, walk with the money to pay a substantial fine.

And, said Justice Carlisle Greaves, expect very little time in which to pay that fine.

He made the declaration yesterday as he ordered admitted gunman Kemar Peter Jamar Ward to pay $5 000 immediately and $10 000 in three months, when he appeared in the No 3 Supreme Court.

Ward, 29, of Parish Land, Christ Church, had just pleaded guilty to having a .45 ACP Tanfoglio semi-automatic pistol on December 23, 2019. He apologised for the offence, saying: “It would never happen again.” (HLE)
