Residents in Arch Cot Terrace, Brittons Hill, St Michael, have been promised that the area will get a facelift soon.

Yesterday, following a meeting with some householders and those in surrounding districts, parliamentary representative for St Michael South, Kirk Humphrey, said they should start to see improvements in a matter of days.

Humphrey, who is also Minister of Maritime Affairs and the Blue Economy, said a team will debush various lots in the small district. He also spoke of trying to get the area well lit and developing a strategy to have regular cleaning of the fenced area, where an apartment building collapsed in 2007.

He said he spoke to Minister of Housing, Lands and Maintenance Dr William Duguid about the matter as the fenced area was under the latter’s jurisdiction, and Duguid said he would find out what led to that section of the community being enclosed.
