The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory identified 436 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, 219 males and 217 females, on Monday, November 1.
Of this number, 97 people were under the age of 18, and 339 were 18 years and older. The facility conducted 2 265 tests.
There were 815 people in isolation facilities, and 5 885 in home isolation.
Two deaths were recorded on Monday – a 70-year-old Haitian female and a 92-year-old Barbadian male. They were both unvaccinated. Their deaths bring the number of lives lost to the viral illness to 158, as at November 1.
To date, 149 174 people – 65.3 per cent of the eligible population – have received at least one dose of the vaccine under the National COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign. A total of 127 311 people (47 per cent of the total population or 55.7 per cent of the eligible population) have received their second doses and are fully vaccinated. The eligible population represents people who are 12 years and older.
Since the start of the pandemic, Barbados has conducted 392 318 tests and recorded 18 459 confirmed cases (8 946 males and 9 513 females) of COVID-19. (BGIS)
