Now that some residents along the East Coast have running water again after a mains repair project by the Barbados Water Authority’s (BWA) in the area, it is also looking to improve other nearby areas.
The BWA’s Director of Engineering Charles Leslie gave that update yesterday during a press briefing about the work they conducted at Cattlewash, St Joseph.
Following the successful repair of the ten-inch main and relaying, Leslie told reporters there were other areas of concern in St Joseph and St Andrew.
“We have a number of mains in St Joseph and St Andrew so I think there are going to be projects upgrading those roads. The BWA will be working with the ministry to change out a lot of the mains in those areas as they go along,” Leslie said.
Although Leslie was unable to provide a timeline for those projects, he acknowledged that disruptions were likely. (TG)
