323 new virus cases

The number of positive coronavirus (COVID-19) cases recorded on Monday, November 15, was 323 – 158 males and 165 females.  The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory conducted 1 830 tests.

The new cases consist of 59 people under the age of 18, and 264 who were 18 years and older.

There were 991 people in isolation facilities, and 7 437 in home isolation.

Three deaths were recorded – an 89-year-old woman, who was dead on arrival at the Accident and Emergency (A&E) Department on November 12; a 68-year-old woman, who died at A&E on November 14, and a 78-year-old man who passed away at the Harrison’s Point Isolation Facility on Monday. They were unvaccinated. As at November 15, 197 lives were lost to the virus.

The public health laboratory has carried out 416 959 tests since February last year, and recorded 22 639 cases (10 853 males and 11 786 females) of COVID-19.

Under the National COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign, the total number of people with at least one dose is 151 882 (66.5 per cent of the eligible population). The total number of people who are fully vaccinated is 132 777 (49 per cent of the total population or 58.1 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
