252 new virus cases

A total of 252 positive COVID-19 cases, 108 males and 144 females, were recorded on Wednesday, November 17, by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory. The facility conducted 1 681 tests.

Of the new cases, 70 people were under the age of 18, and 182 were 18 years and older.

There were 841 people in isolation facilities, and 7 573 in home isolation.

One person died – a 73-year-old Barbadian woman passed away at the Harrison’s Point Isolation Facility. She was unvaccinated.

As at November 17, 205 people had died from the virus.

The public health laboratory has carried out 420 230 tests since February last year, and recorded 23 175 cases (11 080 males and 12 095 females) of COVID-19.

Under the National COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign, the total number of people with at least one dose is 152 195 (66.6 per cent of the eligible population). The total number of people who are fully vaccinated is 133 458 (49.2 per cent of the total population or 58.4 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents people who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
