Residents of the quiet village of Airy Cot, St Thomas, are still trying to come to grips with events over the past 48 hours surrounding the disappearance of visiting 30-year-old Samara Bristol, and a mysterious fire at the house where she was staying.

MISSING Samara Cameisha Kymel Bristol (GP)

When a Nation team visited the area yesterday, some said they were trying to make sense of the two events, particularly the disappearance of Samara, who has dual American and Barbadian citizenship.

The neighbours were unfamiliar with Samara but knew her mother, Samantha Bristol, who also resides in the United States.

The house at which Samara’s stepfather lived, was extensively damaged by fire around midnight on Tuesday.

Police issued a missing person’s report on Wednesday evening for Samara, who was last heard by her mother on Tuesday between 6:45 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. after recently arriving in Barbados from the US. (MB)
