GLASGOW – A confident Bajan Gems squad begin their tour of Scotland with a warm-up match against a Sirens Development Squad today at the Emirates Arena.

Following three successive days of intense training at the Glasgow Club indoor court, head coach Margaret Cutting and her assistant Adrian Craigwell said they were pleased with the output and readiness of the players for the battles ahead.

“After the initial concerns with the cold, the girls have adjusted and really shown their eagerness to play netball,” Cutting told NATIONSPORT yesterday.

“We used a number of combinations to decide which to use on game night and we are very happy with the form of the shooters, with Shonica (Wharton), Brianna (Holder), and Faye (Agard) looking very good.

“Pea (Sheniqua Thomas) has been looking good at wing attack, and when we gave her the goal attack bib, she has shown sharp shooting form. The experienced mid-court of Sabreena Smith and (Tonisha) Rock-Yaw have also looked ready for competition.” (KB)
